A combination of increased patient volumes, employee exhaustion, and supply chain disruptions have created a perfect storm resulting in a diminished focus on the healthcare facility culture of safety. She discussed the importance of robust documentation to better understand the nature of needlestick injuries. Additionally, frontline employees must be involved in the selection and feedback of safety devices that can help protect them from needlestick injuries.
